I first heard about Brandcation from a blogging buddy while she attended Bloggers Gone Costal. Then I found out that the next Brandcation would be in Pigeon Forge, TN I was super excited because I knew that it was only a few hour drive and probably something I could do! And being new to the area it was going to be a great way to check out the area for a future family trip! So why didn’t I just buy a ticket? Well to put it simply I was broke. As a stay at home mom to three boys who just moved 900 miles across the country money was not in abundance at the time.
When I found out that Mom Dot, Life With Levi, and Just Stop Screaming were teaming up to offer one blogger the opportunity to win the VERY LAST TICKET to Brandcation I was psyched! So I sat down to write my post and my mind went totally blank! I tried and tried to come up with the words to tell you all why I want to go to Brandcation and why it would mean the world to me, and my fingers just wouldn’t move!
I scanned through all the pictures of the beautiful cabin that we would be staying at…
I mean really who wouldn’t be inspired by this? But well I just wasn’t. I found myself thinking about all the things that I would be leaving at home. That is when it hit me. I LOVE my kids and my husband and for the most part I am VERY much a home body. But just last night while I was more or less staring at my ceiling trying to figure out why I wasn’t sleeping yet, I decided that I deserve this for me!
I give everything I have to take care of my kids and to loving my husband. I deserve something GREAT for myself.
About four weeks ago we moved our family from Chicago to Columbia, SC. While I was happy to leave a lot of negativity back in Chicago, I have found myself missing the few positive connections that I had back home. I find myself needing my blogging relationships more and more. I need to keep the positive things in my life at the forefront. While my kids are the MOST important and positive aspect of my life, every now and then EVERY momma needs a little break from reality and EVERY momma deserves some time to do the things that she loves to do! I LOVE to blog, I LOVE to meet new people and I LOVE to experience new and exciting things!
So that is why I am saying today Brandcation Here I Come! Maybe it won’t be Pigeon Forge for me this year, but I WILL get there and I will get to make new connections with AMAZING women and I can’t wait! But lets keep our fingers crossed that I get to take a trip to Tennessee this year!
